Most of us know this feeling. You pick up your phone to check one thing and suddenly twenty minutes, three apps, and a random video later you are not quite sure how you got there. Technology is brilliant, it helps us work, connect, and relax, but it can also quietly hijack our time, focus, and attention.

This training session is about making your tech work for you, not the other way around. We dig into the psychology and neuroscience behind it all, looking at why our brains love notifications, endless feeds, and “just one more episode.” You’ll see how boredom, stress, and loneliness often sit underneath our scrolling and tapping, and why changing your digital habits starts with understanding those triggers.

We’ll explore the impact that constant connection has on sleep, mood, concentration, and productivity, without pretending the answer is to throw your phone in a lake. We’ll look at both sides, where tech supports your goals and where it quietly pulls you away from them. Using our HappyMind Digital Wellbeing Cards, you’ll explore simple, practical ideas to set healthier boundaries with devices, apps, and notifications.

From there, you’ll experiment with realistic tweaks rather than extreme digital detoxes and create your own personalised plan that fits your work, life, and energy levels. Think smarter defaults, kinder routines, and small shifts that help you be more present where you actually want to be, whether that is in a meeting, with loved ones, or just having a moment to think.

You’ll leave with a clearer picture of your own digital habits and a set of tools to build a more balanced, intentional relationship with technology. Less autopilot, more choice.

Can this training course be delivered in person?
All our training courses are delivered virtually using MS Teams, WebEx and Zoom. We have offices in London, Brighton and Auckland and deliver classroom workshops in the UK, Europe, NZ and Australia.
How do you make learning fun?
All of our training is designed in-house by our awesome trainers and graphic designers. We use cutting-edge production techniques to create fun and inspiring ways to engage with our learners that helps make learning easy and long lasting. We are often asked "how are you doing this?!"
What is the ideal group size?
All of our training courses are highly interactive. For virtual and hybrid training sessions we suggest a maximum of 24 participants and for classroom training the optimum group size is 16-18.
