Braille Literacy Month (US)
Braille Literacy Month (US)
January’s here and, with it, comes National Braille Literacy Month, shining an annual spotlight – or should we say, dot-light – on the visually impaired community. Now that Braille’s made its way into digital spaces, it’s more accessible and relevant. But there’s still work to do! This month is both a rallying cry for ramping up inclusivity in our workplaces and beyond, and a celebration of a tactile language that’s opened doors for those who navigate life beyond sight.
Whether or not you use braille or know someone who does, raising awareness helps others understand the bigger picture – literacy isn’t one-size-fits-all. In our diverse society, every dot counts. By valuing Braille, we’re pushing for a more accessible world where everyone gets a fair chance to feel valued and connected. Ready to learn more and join the dots?
