Wear It Purple Day (AU)

Each year, the last Friday of August signals ‘Wear It Purple Day.’ And, just like other fantastically purple things (Cadbury’s Dairy Milk bars, purple Skittles and, er, Prince circa ‘84…to name just a few), this one’s pretty special. Wear It Purple Day rallies celebrations and support of young people within the LGBTQIA+ community, all across Australia. The mission? To challenge prevailing societal norms to foster a more inclusive and positive environment for everyone. Boom!


Wear it Purple Day pops up only once a year, but it’s all about making a difference that sticks all year long. Get chatting, become someone’s ally, and spread the love. It’s a team effort to build a place where everyone feels welcome. Rocking purple on this day shows you’re in on the action.
