World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

Today, July 30th, marks the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. It’s an annual date set aside by the UN to broadcast a harsh reality: human trafficking; a crime that sadly touches all corners of the globe. It isn’t just about sharing stats and policies; it’s about real people—women, men, and children—trapped in situations they never chose. It’s about acknowledging their struggles and pushing for their rights. 

The whole idea behind today is to spark global action. Communities and organisations are encouraged to listen, learn, and lend voices to those who’ve been silenced. It’s about arming ourselves with the tools to notice and recognise signs of trafficking. By working together, we can all do our bit to make a difference in the lives of those affected by trafficking and move closer to a world where everyone lives free from exploitation.
