Bisexual Awareness Week
Bisexual Awareness Week
How can we better support bisexual people and create a more inclusive world? Bisexual Awareness Week, or BiWeek, is a great chance to reflect on that. It’s all about celebrating bisexuality within the LGBTQ+ community and acknowledging the unique experiences and challenges faced by bisexual people. It’s a week to learn, educate, and challenge those myths we might not even realise we hold.
The bisexual community sometimes feels like the overlooked part of the LGBTQ+ family, often facing unfair stereotypes and expectations. Today gives us a chance to celebrate them and their nuanced experiences, while shining a light on the issue of bisexual erasure. Events often include educational sessions, community gatherings, and advocacy campaigns, all aimed at boosting awareness.
