International Day of Persons with Disabilities
International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Every year, the 3rd December marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Set by the UN, it spotlights the rights and lives of people with disabilities. Think of today as a special opportunity to step up and champion the rights of disabled people. To campaign for their inclusion and recognition in every part of society, from politics to culture.
When we remove barriers to including people with disabilities and instead empower them to be fully involved in all aspects of life, everyone in the community benefits. It’s a win-win. That’s why recognising this day matters so much. Celebrating it means we’re actively working towards a world where everyone, regardless of ability, gets to play an equal part in our society. It’s a way of honouring everyone’s uniqueness and pushing for a more inclusive world. Right on!
