World Youth Skills Day
World Youth Skills Day
Skills! They’re the secret sauce to success, and World Youth Skills Day, celebrated every year on July 15th, is all about giving young people the tools they need to thrive in today’s world. Established by the UN, this day highlights the power of vocational education, apprenticeships, and hands-on learning. It’s a chance to celebrate the talents of the next generation and help them unlock their full potential for the future.
This day is a big deal as it underscores the crucial role of diversity in skill development, and the need for greater investment. We need more inclusive and equitable educational and training systems that cater to people from all walks of life. It’s no secret that some of us have access to more opportunities than others, but by ensuring that all young people, – regardless of background – have access to opportunities to increase their skillset, we help level the playing field. Embracing today champions better support for young people, while fostering more compassion, innovation and prosperity.
