International Day for Tolerance
International Day for Tolerance
Born from UNESCO in 1985, International Day for Tolerance happens on 16th November every year, highlighting the importance of building tolerant societies. Nurturing respect, igniting conversations, and creating bonds among different cultures and people – that’s the vibe today. It’s not just a token nod to diversity; it’s about truly engaging with those around us, listening to their experiences, and understanding how these experiences shape their perspectives.
Intolerance is a huge global issue. Today encourages us to step outside our usual thought patterns, to recognise the melting pot of viewpoints that exist in our world. Not just accepting our differences, but actively seeking out and appreciating the unique aspects of everyone we meet. By observing today, we contribute to a more inclusive world, where each person’s ideas and stories add to the richness of our shared human experience. Love that!
