International Day of Peace
International Day of Peace
The International Day of Peace, celebrated on September 21st, is like the world’s biggest peace rally. Led by the UN, it’s a day to promote peace and unity, bringing nations and individuals together. The UN encourages everyone to observe 24 hours of ceasefire and non-violence—just one day to focus on what unites us, rather than divides us.
At a local level, we’re all invited to join anti-war marches, educational programmes exploring the meaning of peace from an individual and collective perspective, or simply find an avenue throughout the day to bring more peace into our lives and the lives of those around us. Peace thrives when people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives come together to promote understanding and cooperation. This day serves as reminder that it’s our shared responsibility to work towards a more inclusive and peaceful future for all.
