International Equal Pay Day
International Equal Pay Day
International Equal Pay Day, which was first spearheaded by the UN in 2019, illuminates a big issue: the gender pay gap. Globally, women earn about 20% less than men, highlighting a pervasive gender pay gap across various regions. Every September 18th is a call to action against the unfairness in pay worldwide.

The wage gap isn’t just about numbers; it’s about people. Whether you’re a woman in a corporate role or juggling part-time work in a small business, this is a battle that resonates hard – especially with mothers, women of colour, or immigrants, who often sit on the lower end of the pay scale. And it’s not because they’re working any less hard. Nope. It’s a deeper, systemic problem. Today is about spurring allyship, and fighting for a world where pay is based on what you do, not who you are.
