International Workers’ Day
International Workers’ Day
Also known as Labour Day or May Day, International Workers’ Day is a global tribute to those working hard and fighting for fair wages and decent work conditions. Over the years, brave folks standing up for their rights have won important victories like minimum wage and paid leave in some countries. Yet, the fight isn’t over, as many workers still face unfair wages, juggle multiple jobs, or miss out on essential benefits like paid holidays or a reliable pension.
Around the globe May 1st is commemorated in a blend of celebration and protest. It’s a moment to pause from the grind and also to unite in solidarity, striving for better workplace conditions. It’s about making sure that fair treatment at work isn’t just a privilege but a universal right. Here’s to that!
