Pulse Night of Remembrance (US)
Pulse Night of Remembrance (US)
The Pulse Night of Remembrance is a yearly event that commemorates the tragic incident that occurred on the 12th of June, 2016, at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. This sombre day is marked to honour the 49 lives lost and numerous individuals injured in what was one of the deadliest mass shootings in the history of the US.
The Pulse nightclub was known for being a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community, until it became the site of an unimaginable horror, deeply impacting the local community and leaving shockwaves around the world. Today is a reminder of the violence faced by LGBTQ+ folks and the ongoing struggle for acceptance and equality. By recognising it, we can take a stand against hate while highlighting the need for continued advocacy and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
