World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day
Every November 14th, we come together for World Diabetes Day (WDD), a campaign by the International Diabetes Federation and WHO, and endorsed by the UN. This isnβt just a nod to the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the person who co-discovered insulin. But, crucially, a spotlight on the global impact of diabetes, which affects 1 in 10 adults (mainly with type 2).β¨
Supporting this cause means joining a powerful movement that reaches billions, dedicated to the early detection and effective management of diabetes. The blue circle? Thatβs its unifying symbol, representing worldwide solidarity. Even if youβre not personally affected, this is a huge day for spreading knowledge and promoting better access to care, to create healthier communities around the world.β¨
