World Purple Day
World Purple Day
Hooray for Purple Day! Honoured globally every 26th March, this colourful calendar entry was dreamed up by Cassidy Megan, an eight-year-old from Canada who wanted to shine a spotlight on epilepsy. Inspired by the lavender flower, a symbol for epilepsy, Cassidy chose purple to represent a day of global unity. Fast forward, and you’ll find over eighty five countries getting stuck in, transforming this into a worldwide movement of awareness.
If you’re living with epilepsy, this is likely to be a part of your daily conversation. But today is an invitation to everyone – a chance for people from all walks of life to learn the facts, discuss its impact and keep the conversation flowing. Whether you dress up as Violet Beauregarde or organise a Prince-themed karaoke-thon, Purple Day is an opportunity to participate, show support and join a growing community.
