Race Unity Day (US)
Race Unity Day (US)
Mark your calendars folks, ‘cause it’s time for a celebration of togetherness and diversity, AKA: Race Unity Day! This date is marked every second Sunday in June and has been going since 1957. Created from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the US, it’s a day to champion our unique differences and encourage more respect and understanding across all races.
There are loads of ways to get stuck in – think cultural fairs, community gatherings, fun runs, or sharing a potluck of dishes from around the world. Even something as simple as having a friendly chat with a colleague can make a difference. Discrimination is sneaky; it creeps into workplaces, schools, and everyday life. Today’s about starting honest conversations and building a bit more understanding and empathy for one another.
