RUOK Day (AU)
RUOK Day (AU)
Are you okay? That’s today’s question. Every second Thursday of September, RUOK Day serves up a national reminder of the significance of checking in with each other. Today, Australians are encouraged to reach out to those around them and offer an invitation to open up about how they’re feeling inside. Sometimes, all we need is that opportunity to speak and we can surprise ourselves with what we’ve been bottling up.
Got a sense that someone you know is feeling out of sorts? The ethos of RUOK Day is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to make a difference through the power of conversation, and it shares tools to help open lines of communication. It’s not about solving problems, but offering a listening ear and letting others know they’re not alone. Because you never know what someone’s going through. And just one simple question can be transformative.
