World Refugee Day

Today is World Refugee Day. Marked every June 20th, it’s a global drive by the UN to raise awareness about the plight of refugees. Highlighting the millions of people forcibly displaced from their homes due to conflict, persecution, or violence, it serves as a platform to recognise their resilience and courage – stressing the importance of empathy and support for their cause. 

World Refugee Day draws attention to a massive humanitarian crisis, encouraging collective action to address the root causes of displacement. It calls for essential assistance and protection for refugees and promotes a world where people can live in peace and security, regardless of circumstances. By championing today, governments, organisations, and people just like you are reminded of how vital it is to work together to find lasting solutions. Because refugees aren’t just statistics. They are unique individuals deserving of dignity and respect.
