André Rostant has written a brilliant, witty debut novella on life as Big Issue vendor. It combines gritty realism, colourful characters, humour and with an important message about the role of luck in our lives.

While sheer graft can certainly move mountains a bucket of dirt at a time, remembering why we do what we do is what keeps us getting out of bed in the morning and putting in the time. 

Sitting Pretty is one of the most articulate reads on disability. There is so much that I have not mentioned here, including how expensive it is to be disabled and the perils of trying to find accessible housing.
