Race Equality Week (UK)
Race Equality Week (UK)
Race Equality Week – from 5th to 11th February in 2024 – is a big UK initiative, rallying companies and people to combat workplace racism. It’s packed with activities aimed at sparking meaningful conversations and encouraging leaders to create anti-racist work cultures. By sharing initiatives, the event fosters community in building more inclusive, fair workplaces for all, regardless of race or ethnicity.

The reality check is stark. A whopping two in five Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority folks are up against racism in their workplaces – ranging from insensitive jokes to outright harassment. Worse still, a lot goes under the radar because people fear speaking up might backfire on their careers or impact their work relationships. This kind of bias seeps into performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and career opportunities. So this week is crucial in driving meaningful change, ensuring our workplaces are welcoming and equitable for everyone.
