Stress Awareness Month
Stress Awareness Month
Every April is Stress Awareness Month. Although stress is a natural human response that nudges us to deal with threats, chronic stress can lead to (or worsen) serious health issues like heart disease, high blood pressure, and mental health disorders. In fact, World Health Organisation identified stress as the “Health Epidemic of the 21st Century.” Gulp. So this is definitely a topic worth paying attention to.
So we all need to chill out, right? Easy! Of course, the reality is anything but that. Our connected 24-7 lifestyles are an assault on our senses. And from rising costs to rising temperatures, we have worries that feel outside of our control. But there are strategies we can use to find more peace and adopt healthier habits. This month is about putting the brakes on burnout. Take the 30 day challenge to adopt a new habit, talk with others about stress and its effects, and look after yourself.
