World Hearing Day
World Hearing Day
World Hearing Day, observed annually on March 3rd, is a global initiative established by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to raise awareness about hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care. This day highlights the significance of early detection and prevention of hearing impairment. Each year, World Hearing Day focuses on specific themes, addressing issues like noise pollution and access to hearing care services.
Today is all about bigging-up the need for inclusive societies where folks with hearing difficulties can fully get involved in all aspects of life – from education to employment. Because hearing loss can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or nationality, we all need to recognise the importance of early intervention and accessible hearing healthcare services. World Hearing Day reminds us that everyone deserves equal opportunities to communicate and engage with the world, regardless of their hearing abilities.
